your initial order and your final approval of the finished
website is usually less than 14 days; in the unlikely event
that it will take longer, we'll let you know in advance.

I use my existing company logo?

Almost certainly - and
this is free when you order a website. We prefer
to receive this logo in electronic format but if you cannot
supply this, please send us the largest and best quality
printed logo you have and we will see if it can be converted
into a suitable web image. Very small logos with fine detail
may prove problematic for use on the Internet. We
may have to amend some logos to fit the web design you
have chosen but will only do this with your agreement.

Of
course! We'll send you a link where you can see your
website online as a sub-section of our website, prior
to establishing it as a website in its own right. You
are welcome to make changes to your wording at this time. You
don't pay a penny until you're completely satisfied.

Our Entry Level package
includes a website, domain name and one year's hosting
for just £199. Additional services such as
extra pages are available if you choose and chargeable
individually.
After the first year you will need to renew web hosting
on an annual basis, we will
bill you for this.
Your domain name needs to be renewed annually, or we can arrange for it
to be bi-annually.
You will be notified of this at the time. For most domain
names this will not exceed £25 pa.

After you have approved
your website you will be sent an invoice. You can pay by
cheque or BACS.

What is hosting?
If you think of your website as a poster advertising your business, the
hosting is the billboard you paste your poster onto.
Your website is created on a computer at Easy As ABC. Once complete, it has
to be uploaded to a special kind of computer linked to the Internet called
a Web Server. Web servers commonly store large numbers of websites
for many different customers, this is called web hosting. Once your
website is on the web server, it is accessible to anyone over the Internet.
Who hosts my website?
Your website is hosted on Easy As ABC's web servers at a reliable hosting
company. The first year's hosting is included in the price of buying
a website from us. After the first year we'll bill you annually for
hosting. Our aim is to provide reliable high performance hosting
for a lower price than you could buy it elsewhere.
Can I have my website hosted elsewhere?
Yes, we will be happy to manage your website on your own web hosting free
of charge. If you prefer to upload the website yourself we can send
you your website on a CD which you can upload to your chosen web hosts;
because of the extra work this entails, we have to make a charge of £25
for this service. There is no discount for not using Easy As ABC hosting.
If you choose to have your website hosted elsewhere, Easy As ABC cannot offer
you an email service as this is linked to your web hosting. However,
most hosting suppliers include email accounts in their hosting deals so
it is almost certain that your new web hosts will provide this. Similarly,
if you choose to upload your webiste yourself, Easy As ABC will not be able
to upload any changes to your website you ask us to make; we will have
to send you changed pages for you to upload, a £25 fee will be chargeable.
Whilst there are lots of cheap hosting deals available, our experience
shows that many of these hosting companies offer poor service and reliability,
and their servers are often over-crowded and slow. Easy As ABC hosting
is so competitively priced (free for the first year and then just £100
per year thereafter) we strongly recommend you use our web hosting. This
way you are guaranteed a reliable service on high performance servers and
a single point of contact for all enquiries.

is bandwidth and how much do I get?

Bandwidth is the term
used to describe how much data can be passed through your
hosting service, it is calculated on a monthly basis.
Every time someone visits a page on your website, a number of data files
get sent from Easy As ABC's servers to the visitor's PC. Every email you
send or receive via your Easy As ABC email account is a data file also. Over
the period of a month the total size of all the data files passing through
your hosting is calculated.
Bandwidth is unlimited
for Easy As ABC customers.

What is a
domain name?
www.easy-as-abc.co.uk is a domain name, as is www.bbc.co.uk,
etc. This is the name which will identify your
site on the Internet.
How do I get a domain name?
As part of our standard website package we will register a .co.uk or .com
domain name on your behalf, other domain name extensions such as .biz are
available but may cost extra. Unlike some unscrupulous web development
companies, we will register your domain name in your name and it will become
your property, not ours. Your domain name will be registered for one year
and has to be renewed thereafter, costs vary but should not be more than £25
pa for .co.uk and .com domains, often less. We will send you a domain
name renewal notice before it expires.
I already have a domain name for my business, can I use that
for my website?
No problem whatsoever. You will need to contact your domain registrar and
give them technical details of your new website, but we'll give you all
the information you need. Because of the extra work this entails,
Easy As ABC cannot offer a discount for using an existing domain name.
If your domain name is registered elsewhere, Easy As ABC cannot notify you
about domain name renewals.

changes can be undertaken for a flat fee of just £25,
more complex changes will cost more but we'll quote you
in advance, we make an effort to keep these costs as
low as possible.
